The Old Cider House, Nether Stowey, Somerset is one of the most dog friendly bed and breakfast guesthouses in the UK (as voted by the Kennel Club).

It is so difficult to find a dog friendly hotel or B&B in Somerset stating dogs allowed rather than no dogs allowed! So, if you are looking for hotels that accept dogs – look no further.

Everything about The Old Cider House is dog friendly. We have two designated pet friendly rooms (yes, pet cats can come too), one ground floor twin (Orchard) and a first floor double (Poets). All we ask is that dogs are well behaved, can be left at meal-times and that they don’t jump on the beds.

Dogs are allowed in the rooms at night, the lounge and in the gated garden – however, we do have chickens and these frighten easily. Prices: £3.00 per dog per night.

  • Just off M5 – ideal stop-over on way to Cornwall
  • Superb walks on doorstep
  • All local pubs dog friendly
  • Free sausage breakfast, ID tag and home-made biscuits

Ozy, our resident Labrador, welcomes dogs with a friendly dog sniff and loves living in a Somerset pet friendly hotel. There are only a few simple rules when staying at The Old Cider House – the main things are that dogs must be well behaved (and not bark or whine when left for breakfast), must not get on the beds and owners must clear up after them. Up to two dogs are allowed in each dog friendly room and a £3.00 charge is made for dogs per night.

Dog guests are treated to a welcome dogs pack, including home made dog biscuits, a clean bowl and mat, information on dog friendly walks and everything to make dogs welcome here in the Quantock Hills.

So what’s stopping you? Book today for a Somerset dog friendly experience in the heart of the West Country. Call us on 01278 732228 or e-mail woofwoof@theoldciderhouse.co.uk and speak to Ozy!
