Welcome to our walks for 2009


Lynne Abbott & Ian Pearson have a passion for ale, walking and meeting people and set up real ale walks five years ago because existing walking holiday companies just didn’t offer the sort of holiday that appealed to them.


So real ale walks was born – offering well run, fun and discerning breaks to people from all walks of life who love the countryside and take their ale in their stride.


All our walks are fully inclusive of accommodation, guided walking, all food (incl. pub lunches), FREE UNIQUE ALE BREWED JUST FOR YOU, microbrewery tour and entertainment.

Nether Stowey celebrates this bank holiday weekend with a street market and loads of fun events. Walkers will experience all that the Village and the Quantocks have to offer with gentle walking to work off all that good food. (Walks less than 4 miles - easy)

Ale of the break - QUANTOCK FOOD FESTIV'ALE

SUMMER SUN PUB WALK £175 (3 days/2 nights) *****

With summer well and truly on its way, see the Quantocks in the soft sunlight of mid June – then enter the darker interiors of some of the finest pubs in the area. These walks take guests over the Quantock Hills to the villages on the west side. (Walks 8 – 11 miles).

Ale of the break - SUMMER DREAM ALE - a lovely light beer with a hint of citrus.

AUTUMN ALE TRAIL £175 (3 days/2 nights) *****

Not only do we visit some fantastic pubs we also do a bit of  ‘magic mushrooming’ where we search for, identify and, if very lucky, taste a few wild mushrooms. The ancient woodland of the Quantocks is perfect for late summer walks and the Hills are covered in a carpet of purple heather making walking a real sensory pleasure. (Walks 8 – 11 miles).

Ale of the break - AUTUMN RED DEER ALE - an amber beer, perfect for the beginning of autumn.
