Welcome to 4ale.co.uk – breaks for the real ale enthusiast.

We are based in West Somerset, and run a licensed guesthouse, half-barrel brewery and walking holiday company – all designed around the enjoyment of real ale.

This year we are running three distinct breaks:

Gourmet Dinner Evenings

Enjoy an evening at The Old Cider House with a gourmet, beer inspired dinner. Each dish is made with beer (including the pudding) and an appropriate ale will accompany the courses. There are plenty of surprises during this relaxing evening and we even run a light-hearted quiz to keep the mind active between courses.

Price: £99 per person for standard room (upgrade to a premium room for an extra £5 pp).

Real Ale Walks

These 3 day/2 night breaks are a dream come true for the country walker and village pub lover. On the Friday night we start with a short Village stroll followed by beer tasting and dinner. Depending on the weekend we then spend the next 2 days walking the Quantocks in search of good pubs and fine ales. On the May weekend we also participate in the annual Village Fair. A special ale is brewed for each break - available throughout the weekend. Walks between 4 and 10 miles. For further details CLICK HERE

Price: £175 per person for standard room (upgrade to a premium room for an extra £10 pp).

Brew Your Own Beer Breaks

This is the opportunity to try running your own brewery for the weekend. Groups of up to 6 guests get together to play at being ‘Mr Charles Wells’ or ‘Mrs Timothy Taylor’ and produce their own unique brew. Once fermented and bottled 12 bottles of your very own beer is sent to you by post. For further details CLICK HERE
