Walking

Where are the Quantock Hills? The Quantocks are a range of hills in West Somerset between Taunton and the Bristol Channel. Quantock walks follow both well defined paths and open access land in this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the first in the UK.

Walks on the Quantocks span open moorland, ancient woodland, cultivated forests trails and coastal walks – so for walks and walking in the UK there is little to rival this self contained and mostly undiscovered UK walking destination.

We have produced a booklet of walks – feel free to download this – just click the ‘click to read’ button on the centre of the booklet.

COLERIDGE WAY

Samuel Taylor Coleridge, one of the UK’s most famous poets, lived in the Quantocks for three years and was famous for his walks on the Quantocks, doing so with his good friend, William Wordsworth. Nether Stowey is now the start of one of the long distance walks taken by Coleridge – along the Coleridge Way. This 51 mile walking route visits the Quantocks and Brendons before finishing in Lynmouth. For Further details CLICK HERE
